Is the grass greener somewhere else? Or are you not seeing the green in yours?

With so much focus on the “Great Resignation,” it’s easy to think things are better elsewhere. And while often this is true, have you really looked at your situation?

Are you only seeing the things you hate about your work? And forgetting the things you like?

Commonly, the problem isn’t necessarily that you don’t enjoy anything in your work. The problem is that you’ve stopped paying attention to the moments you enjoy. The things you put your attention on grow. By focusing on the negatives, the moments you enjoy have slowly withered and lost their vibrancy.

Try this for the next couple of weeks:

Devote attention at the beginning of each day to identify the activities or things you like doing within your work.

The solution isn’t necessarily to join the “Great Resignation,” but instead to be intentional. Pay attention and water the things you like. Maybe they’ll grow back, and your grass will be green again.
